100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week #39

What is the 100 word challenge for grown-ups (100WCGU?)

This is a weekly challenge for those who are over 16 and enjoy challenging themselves with writing. Each week you are given a prompt. It may be a few connected words, a selection of individual words or a picture. You have 100 words (or the number that have been set for that week) to write a creative piece.

One of the great things about the 100WCGU is how people visit other blogs and read the entries. It is all about supporting our writing and giving constructive feedback and support. For some, it is the start of longer pieces of writing, even novels!!

The prompt this week

After last week, I need the equivalent of a lie down in a dark room so hopefully you will not cringe at this very straight forward prompt.

….I’m exhausted. Shut the door behind you….

So, to remind you of the rules you have an additional 100 words to complete your piece making 107 in total. Please make sure it is suitable for a PG certificate and please visit the other entries as that is where we can get ideas as well as support and challenge each other.

I’m exhausted Shut the door behind you!!

This is all I could hear as I wrote the report.

The more I wrote, the angrier I got. How dare a child say this to me, in my classroom as well, in my school, in my playtime!

Then it struck me, all she wanted was the attention.

I had an idea; I would give her the attention.

The following morning I got in to school particularly early and set the trap. If she wanted the attention I would let her have it!!

I got all the staff involved and greeted her with a really big warm welcome!!

From that day to this I have never heard those fated words

I’m exhausted Shut the door behind you!!
